Thanks, Big Bang Theory!

A somewhat brief, simple informative guide for the average person who would like to quickly invest in cryptocurrencies, written by a simple hospice nurse, to help you.

Intro;

There’s so much info, but I’m going to cover as much as I can as quickly as possible. This is in simple English terms very broken down because I send it to anyone that asks for my help, detailing my education and activities in cryptocurrency as of early December 2017. Good luck! And remember; ALWAYS double and triple check any information you get from anyone.

My history;

I was let go from my dream job in May 2017. I’ve battled RA, lupus and a 2 spinal injuries, my grandfather had just passed a way after an insane battle with brain cancer, my husband and I miscarried our twins that same day. My body couldn’t take anymore. Working as a hospice nurse while caring for my family and not for myself, nearly cost me my life. I decided to look for work and further my education. Before college I worked in computer networking/sales/taught software classes. After not using a computer for nearly ten years, I turned one on again and discovered I can’t get enough of computer science and finance. My friend (@kurt!) introduced me to blockchain technology/ cryptocurrencies/ mining/ encryption/ AI. I was sold. I wanted all in, no matter what it took.

May 2017 when I first start my full time crypto career the three cryptocurrencies in lead were; (converted in USD)

Bitcoin: 1,700$

Ether: 88$

Litecoin: 17$

I quickly pulled up the White Papers (ico business/technology plans) and learned the technology, signed up on Coinbase (a trading site) pulled out ALL of my retirement and whole life insurance policy and went all in. In 6 short months, my ROI (return on investment) was tripled, and it continues to explode as more people learn of the benefits. It changed, and continues to change my life for the better.

*Let’s move on to more important things; YOU.

So, obviously you’re in and need some pointers. I learned the hard way, screwed it all up 800 or more times. I’m happy to help save you time, money and cuss words!

If you want to invest right now and you need a quick entry here’s some pointers;

*Be wise!!!! You can rush and throw investments in, hoping it grows. But before you invest in a cryptocurrency, or ico (initial coin offering) I strongly suggest researching their white paper (A business plan for the technology being implemented) and do tons of Research!

*Trading

Coinbase; this is a trading site. Or as everyone that’s watched “The Big Bang Theory“ would say “that’s where you go to buy the bitcoins!“

It’s an easy beginners platform for those lacking a strong stock market, finance or candlestick graphing background.

If you use this link; you’ll get a free 10$ in bitcoin after your first 100$ investment. ‪‬

Coinbase currently only offers 3 crypto’s; bitcoin, ether and Litecoin. (Currently; There’s over 600 altcoins).

These are 3 different technologies that can do different things. Bitcoin is the “name brand” it was the first, and best marketed. Ether is special. Why? Because it comes with “smart contracts”. That means, if I send you ether; It’s possible for me to code it for you to spend it on certain things. It also just launched an entire video game industry this month (December 2017). This will be used in health care, govt, etc. (Several counties have already converted their government documents on blockchain technology!)

*Forking forks!

You may have heard bitcoin is splitting. It has many times. That’s what litecoin is. It’s called a “fork”.

What’s that? Well, blockchain (the unhackable ledger technology behind most cryptocurrencies) is like a highway. When there’s too much traffic, the cars get backed up and can’t move. We have to have „“forks“ to make room for more users. Or, if someone thinks they can “do it better”, they can copy the blockchain, and create their own coin, which is also called a “fork”.

There’s a little of that “congestion” going on right now. 800k people are investing every day, with a spike of over 12 million this past weekend. So, therefore; it’s a little slow. Transactions are normally instant, but there’s been so many orders, it just takes a little time to process. People are buying TONS of bitcoin now, because you get free coins at a fork. You’ll own two currencies after. After btc forks, a lot of people will sell a little and buy eth, ltc or other alts; to make more money. So, i just wanted you to be aware there will be major growth this month, but small dips. (We always say BUY WHEN ITS ON SALE! )

*Storage

You need a wallet. Carrying cryptocurrencies makes you a decentralized bank. That means you own your currency. You are responsible for it. It’s like fiat(your paper currency) in the sense that if you have a tangible 1$ bill, you’re holding a piece of paper with serial numbers on it, that gives it a socially agreed upon value. If you give that dollar away, it’s no longer yours. If you drop it, lose it, dump it, or put it in someone else’s wallet, it no longer has any value to you, right?

That’s exactly how crypto works as a currency. There’s a code determining the socially agreed upon value and if you lose it; it’s gone. Be careful transferring your crypto. Currently, the technology only allows bitcoins to go in bitcoin wallets, Ether into Ethereum wallets, etc. If you send 1Eth to my Btc wallet; that Eth no longer exists. You put it in someone’s else’s account.

There’s info on how to transfer on the sites that discuss their technology and what wallets are compatible.

I use Jaxx/Bread. These are called “soft wallets”. They are software/apps on your mobile devices so you can store and spend your currency. If that technology seems to be “too much!” Information overload!!!! You can always print your currency keys on paper and use it, just like fiat. You can pull money out from the many crypto atms popping up everywhere, or you can buy and download a hard wallet (Trezor or Ledger are 2 excellent brands) a hard wallet is basically a usb that is designed to store your currency.

Here’s the links to all the aforementioned. Do not buy used hard wallets, as the previous owner has the “keys” to the wallet as well and can access anything on it, even without the device. Soft wallets are free.

*Mining;

I can and do build ASICS/gpu’s that mine crypto. That’s another class on its own. If you’re interested in investing this way, email me and I’ll send you my blueprints and resources.

*Managing

There are a lot of financial apps and ways to keep a ledger of your investments. My favorite is CoinTrackr. I’m biased because my friend (@Rob) created it and another friend (@Tuomo) bought it and runs it now. It is wonderful because it has an “incognito“ feature and pairs with your social media accounts. Blockfolio is also a popular choice.

Things to remember;

*There’s only a certain amount of each cryptocurrency. Unlike fiat (paper money), cryptocurrencies it can not be forged, faked, duplicated, nada.

This is a good thing, you dirty crooks.

*if anyone promises you to make millions or 1000‘s overnight, they’re liars or really stupid investors that put in tons of money and had crazy luck. Do your homework. Read Reddit, Twitter, Medium, Cryptocompare, get on Telegram, CoinNews, check Forbes, NY Times, Bloomberg, etc…. we are going mainstream lately. There are enough resources to protect yourself. Read. Learn. Ask. Don’t assume. Don’t make yourself victim, there’s far too many people that are happy to help you!

*What‘s in it for me?

You may ask; “Why are people so willing to educate and help others start investing in crypto?” People are weird. Why do you ask such things? Is no one nice, these days?

When I’ve spoken about my investments and new career, people act like we are selling something. I personally get no financial gain from the MANY hours I spend educating and helping others. I am and will always be a hospice nurse. I’ve prayed for a servants heart my entire life. I find joy in caring for others. What I am gaining by assisting you cannot be measured, it’s far more valuable than any tangible item, service or currency. I see it as an act of kindness. I want you to become financially successful and lessen the burdens in your life. The times I’ve truly struggled were not because I didn’t have money. I felt I was suffering when I missed my child’s baseball games because I was on call. I hated working every holiday for 12–24 hour shifts and on call for 48–72 hours. Awake for days on end; so my lupus flared. I suffered when I was hit by a semi and couldn’t pay my medical bills because the semi driver was unlicensed and over 200k/usd of debt was left for me after a spinal injury & multiple surgeries. I lost my career/passion, time with my family because I couldn’t pay my bills. My beautiful home on the golf course I proudly purchased as a single mom. Gone. I sent my children to private schools, having zero debt, and owned a 5 bedroom home by 27; I thought I was a badass. But I was an idiot. I knew nothing about money and I lost everything. Everything. I ended up in a hospital bed, homeless; staying with family, fighting for my life with no health insurance because my boss fired me when I couldn’t give 110% any longer. Just like that, the 6 years of private university education I worked so hard for and PAID off (90k), is virtually worthless because a careless semi driver was texting and plowed my children and I into another semi. My gain is knowing you may not have to struggle like I did and lose time with your loved ones because you have less financial burdens to provide for your family. No one should have to make a choice between providing for your family or spending time and loving them. No one. That is why I want you to have an understanding of economics and make forms of currency work for YOU! Fiat makes us slaves. Decentralization and a decent economic education will help and bring you quality of life. If I can assist you with that, well I guess I’m still working as a holistic hospice nurse, aren’t I? I’m educating, bringing comfort, compassion, and education, and watching fiat finally die.

May G-d, science, the laws of nature, and kindness enrich your lives and bring you joy as you continue to be an amazing human being. You have the power to be educated, informed and make changes to set your family/friends up for generations to come. Be an intelligent person, do not stop asking questions or stop learning. Do not let the government or anyone tell you that your time has a monetary value; it doesn’t. Time is NOT money. Time is invaluable and cannot be purchased after it has passed. Spend time gaining something of great value; love. Do not spend it slaving away only to complain to those you care so deeply for. That’s not living!!! Money will work for you, it just takes some determination, hard work, and a willingness to learn.

Sincerely,

Sam

*If you’re interested in a far deeper understanding, I have another guide I can send you. If you’re one that codes, has a strong computer, mathematics, or science skills; ask to join me “down the rabbit hole”. There you’ll find bigger nerds than me. We all stare in amazement as we work to grow this technology. Everything. Is. Brand. Spanking. New. Completely untouched market that started in 2008. There’s endless opportunities for intelligent entrepreneurs and investors. Get on the train now, or start running; otherwise you’re going to be playing catch up pretty soon. Ask Jamie Damon if he ate his words last month.

Note; *Never take what I say as fact. Never take what anyone tells you as fact! Ask. Learn. Research. Do what’s best for YOU. My investments may not benefit your needs. We have vastly different lives. I wish you good luck and great gains!
